Social Justice in Teacher Education
Conversation Facilitator: Corey Drake, Michigan State University
Supporting the professional learning of teachers dedicated to nurturing building a more socially just and anti-racist society is a crucial goal of teacher education and professional development. This group will provide a forum for discussing priorities, aspirations, opportunities, and challenges of this important work, particularly in light of how this was or could be facilitated under current conditions where in-person and site-based experiences were/are not possible.
Mathematics Content Courses

This group will provide a forum for discussing priorities, aspirations, and challenges of supporting the learning of mathematics content including under current conditions where in-person and site-based experiences were/are not possible.
Early Childhood Teacher Education
Conversation Facilitator: Amy Parks, MSU
As many more teacher education programs in Michigan shift toward preparing well-started early childhood teachers, this group will provide a forum for discussing priorities, aspirations, and challenges of this important work. This will include opportunities to talk with colleagues about how this was or could be facilitated under current conditions where in-person and site-based experiences were/are not possible.
Elementary Teacher Education
Conversation Facilitators: Angie Krebs & Maggie Rathouz, University of Michigan - Dearborn
As teacher education programs in Michigan transition to structures and content aligned with the recent MDE teacher education standards for PK-8 mathematics, this group will provide a forum for discussing priorities, aspirations, and challenges of this important work. This will include opportunities to talk with colleagues about how this was or could be facilitated under current conditions where where in-person and site-based experiences were/are not possible.
Secondary Teacher Education
Conversation Facilitator: Stephanie Casey, Eastern Michigan University
As teacher education programs in Michigan transition to align with the new MDE teacher preparation standards for secondary mathematics, this group will provide a forum for discussing priorities, aspirations, approaches, and challenges of this important work. This will include opportunities to talk with colleagues about how secondary mathematics teacher preparation was or could be facilitated under current conditions where in-person and site-based experiences were/are not possible
Professional Development of Practicing Teachers
Conversation Facilitators: Emily Theriault-Kimmey & Anthony Stamm, Ann Arbor Public Schools; Michele Madden, UM Ann Arbor
The COVID 19 pandemic catalyzed a dramatic shift to online teaching and learning of mathematics. This will group will focus on opportunities to talk with colleagues about priorities, aspirations, and challenges of this important work, particularly exploring ways of supporting the professional development needs of practicing teachers under current conditions where in-person and site-based experiences were/are not possible.
